Description

First: I apologize if i have posted the bug in the wrong classification. I am not yet experienced in the inner workings of xfce, so I had to take a guess. It would be terrific, if you had a link for "I don't know".

Now to the case:

  • Bug observed in xfce 4.12 but NOT in 4.10 where it works as expected.
  • Above is true in both Slackware and Xubuntu (so not distro-specific).
  • All above is true in danish keyboard-layout but not in english(US). Other layouts not tried.

Reproducible: yes Periodic: no

Bug reproduction:

  1. Use xfce language English(United States).
  2. Set keyboard layout to Danish
  3. Create Application shortcut: xfce4-terminal --drop-down 3.1 Set key shortcut to the key just left of '1' and just above 'TAB' 3.1.1 It is the normal key for a Quake-terminal. 3.1.2 On a danish keyboard: '½' 3.2.3 On an english(US) keyboard: '`'
  4. Now you cannot use the key '5' (above 'r' and 't') ('5' on numpad works fine).

Consequences:

  • If you are not a typist, you will overlook the missing 5s eg. in entering commands in the terminal. This can quickly lead to critical issues in a *Linux system.

Further notes:

  • I do not experience the bug, while assigning the shortcut to one of '1', '2', '3', '4', '6', '7', '8', '9', '0' -- specifically do I not experience it while assigning the shortcut to '5' (so it doesn't go both ways).

Version: 4.12.0
