Menubar spinner shown when Menubar is hidden

Ever since bad4150b the spinner is no longer hidden when the menubar is.

This causes an, in my opinion, undesirable flashing/popping effect when changing directories if you have the menubar hidden.

Shouldn't the spinners visibility be bound to whether the menubar is visible?
