Middle-clicking and right-clicking on an entry in the back/forward "history" context menu is treated the same as a left-click
Version information
Thunar 4.19.3
Xubuntu 24.10 (live ISO)
Steps to reproduce
- Navigate through multiple folders, such as
/
▶ /home/
▶ /home/xubuntu/
▶ /home/xubuntu/Downloads/
- Right-click on the back button in Thunar
- On the "history" context menu that appears, middle-click or right-click on one of the selections
- Observe the result
Current behavior
Middle-click and right-click are treated as if you had left-clicked (with the exception of what is possibly issue #1191 whereby the "Configure toolbar" menu also pop-up - something that does not occur if you left-clicked)
Expected outcome
Middle-clicking should behave the same way as if you middle-clicked directly on the back/forward button itself rather than in its "history" context menu (I can at least say that this is how Nemo behaves).
Right-clicking... I'm not really sure. Honestly it probably could be treated as a left-click. Alternatively, it could actually show the "Configure toolbar" menu without selecting something in the "history" context menu.
Additional information
I may or may not record a video demonstration of this. The main issue is that there's no easy way for me to visually demonstrate a middle-click on the Xfce desktop environment unlike, say, Cinnamon, but I'm not sure if manually installing the Thunar package on a Cinnamon distro would be a scenario that's considered "stock" enough for reproducing and/or testing...
