- Distro: Linux Mint 20.3 Una
- Desktop: Xfce 4.16.0
- Gtk 3.24.20
- Kernel: 5.4.0-169-generic x86_64 bits
- Clipman 1.6.5
FEATURE REQUEST
-
Any CASE variation in (otherwise identical strings (which are sent to Clipman History))
should create a new entry (in Clipman History), not overwrite a previous string
-
Also add an additional on/off slider in the History settings (to enable/disable new Clipman behaviour)
EXAMPLES
VARIOUS
should not be overwritten (in Clipman History) by
Various
OR
SOME_STUPIDLY_LONG_FILENAME_CONTAINING_FAR_TOO_MANY_LETTERS_AND_NUMBERS.txt
should not be overwritten (in Clipman History) by
Some_stupidly_long_filename_containing_far_too_many_letters_and_numbers.txt
COMMENT
This is especially important feature for Linux where filenames are case sensitive.
I was trying to copy/paste (a lot of) filenames to (bulk) rename them with REGEX.
I had to insert tmp characters (and tmp rename) to get it to work 'easily'. (which is silly and prone too mistakes)
ADDITIONAL THOUGHT
Possibly you could also automatically tack the inverse action of this new 'History' setting to the bottom of the 'Actions' pop-up
So:
- if CASE sensitive is ON, selecting text (with CTRL key depressed) would allow the option to COPY with CASE sensitive OFF
- if CASE sensitive is OFF, selecting text (with CTRL key depressed) would allow the option to COPY with CASE sensitive ON
