xfce-plugin-clipman interferes with qt program exit

Description

Xubuntu 16.04 64 bit.

Package: xfce4-clipman-plugin/xenial,now 2:1.2.6-1build1 amd64 [installed,automatic] clipboard history plugin for Xfce panel

xfce4-clipman and xfce4-goodies packages also installed.

When xfce4-clipman-plugin has been added to the panel, qt programs launched with kdesudo hang for several (10?) seconds on exit with message "QClipboard: Unable to receive an event from the clipboard manager in a reasonable time". When plugin is not in the panel and clipman is open, no such hang. Observed and repeatable on this system when launching kvpm.

I downloaded the 1.4.1 deb for zesty at http://packages.ubuntu.com/zesty/xfce4-clipman-plugin , but cannot install it because it requires libgtk-3-0 (>= 3.19.12), but 16.04 LTS is at:

libgtk-3-0/xenial-updates,now 3.18.9-1ubuntu3.3 amd64 [installed] GTK+ graphical user interface library
