Notifications not interacted with could be considered "missed"
This feature request brings another behavior from GNOME that I miss. Here's a description of how Xfce currently does it: #24 (comment 4183)
(...) the icon does change if you "miss" a notification. "Missing" a notification qualifies as having "do not disturb" mode enabled (i.e. notification bubbles aren't shown) while a program sends a notification. Clicking the panel plugin and showing the missed notifications resets the icon to its original style.
On GNOME, with "do not disturb" turned off, a notification that is not interacted with (dismissed or activated) is kept in the notification log as an unread message. The panel will also indicate this with a small white dot:
- This will keep its behavior in line with other desktops and OSes. Android, Windows and the GNOME desktop all operate this way.
- I often miss notifications with "do not disturb" off. Maybe I wasn't looking at the screen, or maybe I went to get some coffee? No one should need to enable "do not disturb" so often like this.
