"Raise windows while cycling", but only temporarily
Some time ago an option was added to "Window Manager Tweaks" that allows to raise windows when cycling. For reference the related discussion can be found here.
I find the current functionality very useful. Together with "Cycle through windows in a list" it suits me better than Xfce's default of cycling through miniature images of windows, because it preserves the spatial relations between windows and as such is more intuitive: I often remember that I want to raise that small window in the left right corner, say.
The current implementation raises windows permanently as they are cycled through. This will often change the visibility of unrelated windows. The original patch (mentioned in the discussion linked above) only raised windows temporarily. I tried it out back then and found the temporary rising just perfect.
Are there any reasons other than simplicity of implementation that speak against raising windows only temporarily while cycling, as in the original patch?
