Disable workspaces for external monitors
I have a laptop and an external monitor. In Gnome my external monitor was just that, an external monitor. And I would use it for certain apps. On my laptop I used some 4-5 workspaces each for a certain project (since I work a lot on my computer). Now in XFCE I am struggling to do it similarly, but XFCE enables workspaces for my external monitor too, gluing them to my laptop's workspaces. So basically instead of 4 workspaces I end up with 8 on 2 screens.
I could pin certain apps on my external monitor so it looks kinda as if there's just 1 workspace on my external monitor, but the huge issue comes from the workspace switcher. Instead of having 4 little boxes to switch from one workspace to another, and move windows from one space to another, I have 8 such little workspace boxes. And it becomes really overwhelming, both to switch between workspaces, and to move windows between them.
Can you please consider the ability to remove workspaces from external monitors? Or manipulate workspaces based on displays? I can then say my external display should have 1 workspace and my laptop 4.
I hope you understand and this use case is not that unique. Many are using external displays for specific tasks/apps, and their main display for workspaces.
Cheers!
