Raise On Focus - Ignore A Moving Mouse Cursor
I use the 'Focus follows mouse' model. And I have a short delay before a 'window receives focus'. I also use the 'Raise on focus' feature. 'Raise on focus' has a slider which changes the delay before a window is raised. My issue regards the raise on focus feature.
I'm having trouble balancing the delay for raise on focus.
If the delay is too short then moving my mouse across the screen raises all the windows under my mouse cursor. And this ruins my work.
If the delay is too long then I am forced to click on windows to raise them. This defeats the purpose of the raise on focus feature.
I like the raise on focus feature. But I also have a legitimate interest in moving my mouse across the screen to click on a notification or switch workspaces.
My suggestion is to raise a window after a delay if I pause my mouse cursor on the window. And reset the 'raise on focus' delay if my mouse cursor is moving. The issue appears to be that raise on focus counts the total time my cursor is over a window whether it is moving or not. I thought that resetting the delay would address my issue and prove to be more intuitive.
