new Idea for wayland support
Hello, I found a new idea for wayland support in xfce. the idea would be to use wayfire as a wayland support. Let me explain:
wayfire works much like compiz it does the "WM" and we give it the shell as an argument at launch.
this choice would make it possible not to affect wayland too much, which is complicated and to work only on the shell, knowing that wayfire is itself coded on wlroot it offers all the necessary support for xwayland / nvidia / etc ... moreover it add all the desktop effects you want and similar to launching wayfire, you just have to specify which plugins you want given to it.
Garuda Os has already tried to make a shell for Wayfire, I think xfce in its place as a shell for wayfire :)
Wayfire: ttps: //github.com/WayfireWM/wayfire example of a simple shell for wayfire: https://github.com/WayfireWM/wf-shell
to change wayfire just use these addresses: $ WAYFIRE_CONFIG_FILE $ XDG_CONFIG_HOME / wayfire.conf ~ / .config / wayfire.conf
and provide it with this file configured with this: https://github.com/WayfireWM/wayfire/wiki/Configuration
Tell me what you think, personally would allow xfce to relieve itself at the work level while being up to date :) wayfire is very light and customizable! :)
