[Enhancement] xfwm4-settings: Tweak configuration dialog UX for "Focus follows mouse" settings?
Observed Behaviour (xfwm4-settings
from xfwm4 version 4.16.1 (revision 5f61a84ad)
):
When configuring Focus follows mouse, I currently need to resort xfce4-settings-editor
to see the exact value in ms of the Delay before window receives focus and Delay before raising focused window settings.
Furthermore, when selecting each slider with the mouse and then using the keyboard to increment the value, the slider increments in steps of 1ms which is imperceptible and doesn't really make sense IMHO.
Suggested Behaviour:
- Add a label containing the delay in ms for each slider, either as a tooltip or perhaps after the label:
- example: Delay before window receives focus: -> Delay before window receives focus: 500ms
- example: Delay before raising focused window: -> Delay before raising focused window: 500ms
- Ensure that when using the keyboard to increment/decrement the slider that it does so in steps of 10ms, which is still small enough for fine control, yet requires an order of magnitude less key-presses to adjust to +/- 100ms.
Notes:
If anyone feels they need sub-10ms control, they can still use the xfce4-settings-editor
to achieve this, so this suggestion represents no loss of control per se while still making the default UX slightly more comfortable.
