Force xfwm4 to draw on disconnected monitors
Hi, first of all sorry if it's not a xfwm4 issue, feel free to close or move if necessary.
I'm using xfce 4.16.1 on Arch on a laptop and I'd like to extend my desktop with a second laptop, much like a secondary HDMI monitor but with VNC. In order to do this, I manually enable the HDMI-1 output with:
xrandr --addmode HDMI-1 1024x600_60.00
xrandr shows the HDMI-1 monitor as disconnected, and it's physically true, but I'm seeing this monitor from the second laptop with VNC. Since it shows as disconnected, xfwm4 will refuse to move windows there and to draw panel, wallpaper and desktop.
I'm using compiz now because it allows moving windows, but it's compositing so it's very slow.
A checkbox in xfce4-display-manager like "Also show disconnected monitors" would be perfect, a hidden setting in xfwm4 would be nice. Let me know what you think, thank you for reading
