Description

Created attachment 6082 patch set as described in the issue description

In the bug report 11511 (https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11511) was asked to have coherency between the "move to workspace x" menu action and the associated keyboard shortcut. The solution was to statically define the behaviour of the keyboard shortcut to be the same as the menu action.

I was really puzzled when, updating to xfce 4.12, I realised that my beloved "move AND switch to" keyboard shortcut was not behaving like I was used to.

Can you please consider the possibility to add a parameter to the configuration of xfwm4 to let the user choose between "move and switch" and "move only" behaviours?

I propose the attached patch set to be applied. It does:

  • add a parameter named "switch_wksp_on_win_move" to the xfwm4 configuration (default to true)
  • check to the value of the parameter to determine the behaviour when a move-to-workspace-keyboard shortcut or menu action are issued
