Display issues with multiple monitors
Hello, I have been using XFCE (Xubuntu) for over a decade and it is my go-to Linux distro.
Until a few days ago, I was running Xubuntu 18.04 with no issues at all.
Now I have a new framework 13 laptop (intel i7- 1360P) and Xubuntu 22.04.
On the laptop only, no issues.
But when I connect an external HDMI screen, there seems to be no way to get the screen to set up properly, ie. display fully, appropriate fonts, etc. This screen worked perfectly on my Xubuntu 18.04 installation. And it works perfectly with fedora 38...
The issues that I have identified:
- scale settings for the laptop display somehow impact the external monitor,
- mirror displays option is not accessible
- display profiles cannot be created, and none are present.
By tweaking the scale settings, I can get the external monitor to be "useable", but the display cannot be set to fully fill the screen. So the windows cannot automatically snap to full screen, for example.
I would be most happy to collaborate and work on a solution together, I am a computer scientist and strong programmer, and retired so have time...
However, I would really like a magic solution the "just works", like it did on Xubuntu 18.04...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Bob
