High CPU usage in xfdesktop when a desktop icon is selected
I've noticed this odd behavior only recently: if I click on an icon on my desktop and leave it selected then xfdesktop will start consuming ~50% of a core for no apparent reason. I've made a perf record of the xfdesktop process (which I can share in case it'd help) and it showed the gtk_entry_completion_set_text_column()
representing over 20% of the CPU time spent by the process. If I deselect the icon then the issue goes away.
I'm on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, using the xfdesktop-4.16.0-1.12 package, Xorg 21.1.4, Mesa 22.1.4 and kernel version 5.19.0.
I can run any tests that might help, including extracting stack traces from the process if it'd help.
