Major bug after intallation

Hy, I installed Xubuntu (24.04) and tried also Linux Lint (22.1). Then I just did : sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade And got all kind of troubles : Wrong cursor, black screen on desktop, no more desktop icons, no more icons (enlarge, close...) on Thunar. In short, it makes it unusable. I tested it on 3 computers (Lenovo 540, lenovo 450 and Fujitsi E546), same result in the past 2 days. I install very frequently computers in the past 10 years.

After waiting several minutes, the computer indicates that there is a system update available. But it is pretty hard to hit the key to launch it (tab doesn't seem to work, the cursor isn't present for a while, but appears when we hit the "window" key). After the system update it is going fine, but I still think it's a major bug discouraging people to install Xubuntu or Mint XFCE

Xfce 4.18, shipped by these distributions, no longer receives upstream patches: the current version of Xfce is 4.20. For installation problems on these distributions, ask for help on their forums or the Xfce forum.
