[FEATURE REQUEST] a new separator with a function {MUTE_PANEL}
hi. i'm irulanCorrino. i am a beginner UI dev. i want you to ask, please, add a new type of a separator to the xfce-panel which would mute panel at that separator's locus.
MODE OF ACTION:
- place it on a panel at some specific locus
- make panel able to hide
- move mouse pointer to the panel anywhere but that specific locus -> panel enters
- move mouse away from the panel and after the panel has left move the pointer toward the new separator -> panel does not enter (is muted)
- move mouse away from the panel and move mouse pointer to the panel anywhere but that specific locus -> panel still enters
OBJECTIVE: to protect sensitive buttons in application windows placed nigh to the panel from the panel covering them accidentally on user's inaccurate moves
PROPERTIES: it needs to have a {size} property (its length), an {appearance} tuple property to chose if it is visible when panel closed or opened and probably a {timeout} property to let the panel enter (but i'm not sure if the latter property would be practical to implement)
p.s.: yes, i would be happy to participate, but i am just studying C language at this moment, so any real tasks would require me to use kinda AI helper ...but i could accept the task myself with a great pleasure if you would assign this to me
