Xfce-panel doesn't show button hints
Xfce-panel doesn't show hints when placed horizontally at the bottom of the screen with option "Automatically hide panel" set to "Never".
By hints I mean the text that should appear above the buttons and other panel elements when you hover mouse cursor over them.
I use xfce4-panel 4.18.1-1 from Debian Testing.

Are tooltips enabled in tasklist settings? If it's not limited to the tasklist it could be a duplicate of #303 (closed).

The bug is connected to the option "Automatically hide panel" set to "Never".
When it's set to "Intellectually" or "Always" the tooltips appear just fine.
And it's not a duplicate of #303 (closed), because changing panel size to 45 pixels didn't help.

I think it is, see #303 (comment 49106) (this option is now "keep panel above windows", and should have the same effect for you as autohide).

Thanks.

The answer is in the link already given:
- Either patch GTK: #303 (comment 49099)
- Or use the workaround combining this option and workspace margins: #203 (comment 38435)
