Group launchers with opened windows
You have this plugin already https://gitlab.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-docklike-plugin but it is not maintained it seems. And it has some fatal crashes + not proper integration with XFCE.
What XFCE is really missing in my view, is a simply way for people to add apps-shortcuts (or launchers) to a panel, click them, open, and manage the opened window from the same launcher button. Right now you need 2 plugins for that. One is the launcher, one is the opened windows....to me this is too difficult and cumbersome for such a simple task. To have a launcher icon, then another icon for the opened window.... Can you please merge the two somehow and allow people to select that in their settings? Would be fantastic and super useful.
I have created a Manjaro spin: TROMjaro and a bunch of people are using it. I am not skilled enough to help with these sorts of things )I am sorry) but what I can tell you for sure is that I tested the OS with "normal" people and pretty much every time I see them completely destroying their desktop.
Here's what all do: they search for an app in the menu, then right click and add to a panel or drag and drop. It is easy and simple and intuitive. Then they click it, and it opens the app. All good and normal thus far. Then they minimize it and they do not realize that the launcher they just created does not represent the same app but minimized. So they click the launcher again from the panel to maximize the window. This opens a new instance of that app. Al of them have opened tens of windows for the same launcher. This is a usability disaster in my view. Pretty much everyone is used to this behavior for "launchers". Click it, opens the app, and also handles the opened app.
So please can we have a discussion about this? If this is not the right place can you please tell me where is?
Thank you so much for your work. XFCE is amazing!
