long names should be trimmed. and "hidden" checkboxes should be always visible.

Unfortunately this is harder to fix than anticipated. My original approach was a false positive (some Gtk+3 widgets are wider and consequently the minimum width of the dialog was bigger so I thought this was fixed).
Using Pango's ellipsize feature doesn't seem to work in this case.

I guess it was fixed when the systray was integrated into the panel, so I'm adding it to 4.15.4. The preferences dialog now expands in case of a very long name, so the problem reported here is solved. One could wish for ellipsis in this case, but that would be another request.
