Description
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009020518 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) Firefox/3.0.6 Build Identifier: Thunar 0.9.99.1
I often have to create very large graphical files (A3 at 1200dpi, for example), and I've noticed that each time I save or copy/move such a file, Thunar statts two instances of /usr/lib/thunar/thunar-vfs-pixbuf-thumbnailer-1 to (re)generate the thumbnail -- which effectively renders the computer unresponsive for several minutes. It would be nice to have some option to never automatically generate thumbnails for files larger than certain size. Another improvement would be to start the thumbnailer processes with low prority.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a large graphics file
- Save it to the disk
- Wait until you can do anything again
Actual Results:
The computer is nearly frozen as both CPU cores are busy generating the thumbnail.
Expected Results:
The thumbnail is only generated upon request for large files.
