[Enhancement] Bulk Rename - the ability to rename all of the contents inside of a folder and its subfolder(s) by simply adding the parent folder without manually adding every single contained file
I am simply asking for the ability to rename all of the files and/or subfolder(s) through the GUI by being able to just add the parent folder and not manually adding every single contained file.
So consider the following:
/folder1/file0.txt
/folder1/file1.txt
/folder1/file2.txt
/folder1/folder2/file1.conf
/folder1/folder2/file2.conf
/folder1/folder2/file3.conf
I'd like to be able to only have to add folder1
, specify that I want to replace the digit 2
with _b
, and have the result be the following without manually adding every single individual file:
/folder1/file0.txt
/folder1/file1.txt
/folder1/file_b.txt
/folder1/folder_b/file1.conf
/folder1/folder_b/file_b.conf
/folder1/folder_b/file3.conf
From what I can tell, there's no way to do this sort of thing with any GUI-based native-Linux bulk-renamer, forcing one to have to do sub-optimal things like running Ant Renamer through WINE.
(see also: my thread here where I end up having to mess around with "find" through the terminal because none of the bulk-renamers I knew of supported files in sub-folders: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=373826)
