Search: Subdirectory results can unintentionally be moved to root of searched folder
Try this in a non-critical folder with dummy files. It is not destructive but it can be easy to misplace and lose track of files.
- Search a folder with subdirectories
- Select a result (or results) only found in subdirectories
- Drag the file/files anywhere in the icon view and let go
The icon view of the search results still acts as if it's in the root of the searched directory. If you drag a file and let go anywhere in the window, it will move the file to the root of the searched directory.
I'm not totally sure if this would be considered a bug but it can be confusing and very easy to accidentally move lots of files from many places.
But you have to be very careful when moving files. Say you think you want to move folder1/folder2/text.txt
to folder1/folder3/
then mid drag you decide not to, the file will instead be moved to the root directory of folder1/
when probably it should cancel and "drift back" to its original location like it does in normal icon view.
