Issues handling a Btrfs multi-device filesystem
Description of the issue:
- The machine has one Btrfs multi-device filesystem spread across two devices
/dev/sda1
and/dev/sdb1
- The issue is that in the
Devices
pane (see the screenshot below) Thunar is showingmass-storage-0
as not mounted - When the line
mass-storage-0
is clicked by mouse, Thunar running as a non-root user incorrectly attempts to mount the filesystem and displays a 'Failed to mount "mass-storage-0"' pop-up window- However, if Thunar is running under the user
root
thenmass-storage-0
is shown as mounted and Thunar will not attempt to mount the filesystem on a mouse-click
- However, if Thunar is running under the user
Note: /dev/sdb1
isn't printed as mounted by /bin/mount
, only /dev/sda1
is printed.
$ sudo btrfs filesystem show /mnt/mass-storage-0
