Show last modified date in the status bar

Usually I work with files in the Compact view, but I often want to see the file's (created or modified) date. Currently it requires to choose "Properties" from the context menu, or to switch Thunar to "List" view. Both options might be a bit cumbersome.

In the status bar we see the file name, its size and type. I could probably live without seeing the type, as it's usually obvious from the extension, but I would like to see the "creation/modification" date at a glance.

Wouldn't it be nice to add such an option, maybe as a configurable setting?
