Yea, it's on purpose to don't exceed the maximum line width, set by .clang-format in order to keep code readable. Because of that, the string was truncated into two peaces … however, both wrapped by a single _(...), so it actually is supposed to be handled like a single string. Here is the related code for the first link you posted:

A pity that Transifex fails to understand that it is a single string, did not know that inability

So it probably would make sense to ignore the .clang-format for this line, putting the complete string into one long line and wrapping it with /* clang-format off */ and /* clang-format on */ tags.

Or maybe you know some other tweak to tell Transifex that the strings belong together?

I can apply a fix only after the Xfce4.20 release, because we are already in the code-freeze phase.
