Under VirtualBox, Thunar does not behave as a drag-and-drop target

Description

I am running on Windows 7, with XUbuntu 14.04 running in a VirtualBox VM. I have replicated this on versions of VirtualBox from 4.3.22 to 5.0.

VirtualBox supports drag-and-drop from the host to the guest VM. It is possible to drag-and-drop files from the host to the XUbuntu desktop, and to various applications including Geany which can act as drag-and-drop targets.

However Thunar windows are not shown as drag-and-drop targets (mouse pointer is a no-entry sign), and dropping on a Thunar window does nothing.

How drag-and-drop should be implemented is a Linux desktop standard. Since other GTK-based applications can receive drag-and-drop from VirtualBox and Thunar can't, my first guess is that this is a bug in Thunar.

Give me a shout if you have any debug code you'd like me to try. Do be aware though that I'm not a hugely experienced Linux user, and my day job is writing software for a living, not maintaining Linux! :) I'm happy to try stuff and report back with log files, but I don't have the experience or bandwidth to do kernel rebuilds or stuff like that.
