Duplicated tray icons in GNOME's notification bar on wayland

When copying or moving files from or to a samba folder, notifications named "File operation progress" keeps acumulating on the system notification bar, and won't close even if I opened them and try to manually close them. They only close themselves only when Thunar is fully closed. It only happens on samba folders, not local ones. Disabling system notifications for Thunar won't help. For what I can see, it has something to do with XDndPRoxy, whatever that is. I'm running updated Ubuntu 22.04 on Xwayland, and Thunar 4.16.10 (Xfce 4.16).

The tray icon functionality was removed in a23c36ff, so it is not present anymore in version 4.18. A proper fix or workaround for 4.16 may be possible, but the priority is kind of low given the niche use case.

That said, let's close the issue. If anybody comes up with a fix for 4.16, feel free to open a merge request, I will happily review it. Though, I won't spend time on reproducing and searching a fix for 4.16 myself.
