Show all icons by default and start with interactive search

This might be a matter of taste and require more consideration regarding user experience: Currently, the default is to show only application icons when opening the icon chooser. However, I mostly find myself switching immediately to "All icons" and narrowing the result set using interactive search, so for me it is more convenient to make this the default.

I am mostly using this dialog from a panel launcher, button "Create new object". If I wanted to add an application, where I perhaps would like to see only application items, I would simply use "Add existing items" instead of creating a custom one. Other users' usage might differ, though.
