Celluloid doesn't open through exo-open
I've set Celluloid (a GTK+ GUI for MPV) as the default video player through Thunar's menu. I can double-click on a video, e.g. an MP4 video (with the video/mp4
MIME type), in Thunar, and it opens it in Celluloid.
However, when I use exo-open video.mp4
in the shell, it doesn't open anything. Instead, it opens Celluloid with the command: /usr/bin/celluloid --gapplication-service
(as seen through pgrep
). I can open the video using gio open video.mp4
, and also through Celluloid's CLI with celluloid video.mp4
.
I initially opened an issue on Celluloid's repo w.r.t. xdg-open
, but the maintainer pointed out that it's the fault of whatever xdg-open
calls (which is exo-open
since I use Xfce), not Celluloid, since gio open
works perfectly.
