Fall back to a search action when whisker menu app search yelds no results
Often times i'm searching for files using the whiskers menu, but keep forgetting that i need to put the -
character before my search. I'm probably spoiled, as must be many others, coming from other distributions that use search engines which allow searching in a lot different ways at the same time, but i believe making broader searches more easily accessible could benefit the software.
I'd like the search feature of the whisker menu to fall back to a user-selected search action (selected in the whiskers menu settings search actions tab, a simple exclusive tickox would do) if the normal search function does not yeld any results.
When the list is empty, a simple line could read Press Enter to search with "action_name"
and pressing enter would trigger the search action (in my own use case: using the default catfish file search).
Alternatively, an empty search result would instead show a list of all possible search actions, in which the user could navigate with the arrow keys (just like app results) to select which search action to fall back to (possibly with most recent search actions appearing at the top).
This would simplify how users interact with the search engine, letting them apply different uses to it without changing the way they interact with it (without thinking about the command character at the beginning of their query). This could be used by other users for other use cases as well: for example, users who'd prefer to search on the internet if the initial search doesn't yeld any result, thinking they had an app installed, not finding it, and subsequently deciding to search for it on the web.
