New terminal windows don't receive focus and are not raised
Not sure when this first started happening (many months ago), but new terminal windows don't get focus and aren't raised. Relevant details:
- Version: 1.1.1.
- Terminal is running in daemon/server mode.
- xfwm4's focus stealing prevention is enabled (disabling it does fix the issue, but I don't consider that an acceptable workaround).
- I open new terminal windows via a global keyboard shortcut (set in xfce's keyboard settings).
- If I open new terminal windows via ctrl+shift+n or the menu in an already-focused terminal window, the issue does not happen.
- Other ways of triggering it seem inconsistent: if I open an xterm and run
xfce4-terminal
in it, the new window gets focused and raised properly (the command returns immediately in the xterm, so it's definitely using the existing running daemon). But if I use xfce4-appfinder to runxfce4-terminal
, the issue is triggered.
This did used to work fine at some point; unfortunately I don't recall the last version where it worked. If the problem isn't easy to find, I can try to build some older terminal versions to see if I can find the offending commit.
I see #15 and #5 (closed), but that seems to be about the drop-down configuration (which I don't use) and about Wayland. And those issues were filed 7 and 10 years ago, which is way before I started experiencing this.
