Description

Hello,

xfce4-screensaver --version xfce4-screensaver 0.1.10 on XFCE 4.14.

Expected Behavior:

  • The screen goes to sleep/standby mode a few seconds (e.g. 5 or 15 seconds) after it is locked.

  • If the user wants to change that timespan, he can find it within the xfce4-power-manager.

  • The timespan can be changed in minutes or seconds.

(similar to GNOME, where the display is powered down a few seconds after it is locked)

Current Behavior:

  • The screen takes - per default - five minutes to go to sleep after it has been locked.

  • There aren't any settings to change the "put display to sleep after screen lock" timeout within the xfce4-power-manager. Instead the preferences can be changed only through the xfce4-screensaver-preferences and there within the settings submenu of the "blank" screensaver.

  • The timespan can be changed only in minutes, so there is a delay of at least one minute.

What should be changed:

  • Put the screen to sleep (DPMS signal) a few seconds after it is locked

  • Maybe put a reference to the screensaver settings in the "Display" tab of the xfce4-power-manager to make users aware that the "sleep after lock" timeout can be changed within the screesaver preferences.

  • Let the user select a timespan below one minute (e.g. 5s, 15s, 30s, 1m, ...) for the "sleep after screen lock" settings.

Thanks :-)

Version: 0.1.10
