Can't record nor screenshare windows in another workspace

Happening in XFCE 4.20 (ArchLinux)

Some behaviors that I've found:

In OBS, trying to capture a window in another workspace results in black until OBS is brought onto that workspace or the window is brought into OBS's workspace

In Discord, screensharing works if the window's workspace is in focus or if it and Discord is in the same workspace, otherwise the stream preview freezes.

GPU Screen Recorder cannot start recording if the window it's trying to capture is on another workspace. And separating GSR from the window while recording causes the output video to freeze.

Is it possible for xfwm to recognize which window(s) is being recorded and continue rendering them?
