xfdesktop should allow a completely transparent background

There are many cool programs running in the X root window (xfishtank, xfireworks, ...), which are not usable with xfdesktop, because there is no option to keep the background of its desktop fully transparent. It would be cool if this feature would be available, so that the program symbols provided by xfdesktop would live above whatever is running in the X root window.
