## Description
It's absolutely baffling that the options to display launchers and minimized applications on xfdesktop are mutually exclusive. These options should be checkboxes, not a dropdown, and this would allow for any combination the user might find desirable. I'd like to only use xfdesktop as a shell, myself, and this would allow for that.

## Description
Browsing the Web I've found, that this has been described more than 3 years ago (still not fixed, BTW) regarding the KDE. Since the author of the mentioned complaining actually wrote everything I would to write now, I'll just paste an excerpt here:
http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/407160-kde-isnt-using-entire-virtual-desktop.html
>> I added "Virtual 1400 900" to the default screen subsections in xorg.conf like I always do, and the virtual display works and scrolls at the boundaries, but even though I can scroll around the entire 1400x900 desktop area it seems that KDE doesn't recognize the full desktop dimensions and thinks it only has 1024x768.
The panel is drawn as if the desktop was only 1024x768, and windows maximize as if the desktop was only 1024x786. If I scroll the virtual desktop fully to the upper left, it's just like having a 1024x768 KDE desktop. I can't drag anything past that boundary, it acts like it's dragged off the screen although the background image (wallpaper) is there and the display scrolls. <<
Unfortunately, I noticed the same problem in XFCE.
Many times I've seen quite common error of the programmers, whose programs were willing to use ENTIRE area of "virtual desktop", instead of just the visible part, e.g. when clicked "maximize" button (the one in upper right corner). The more strange is, that XFCE until today has the opposite: it's using just the currently visible fragment, instead of entire desktop - although it should manage the whole area (e.g. taskbar should be placed at the bottom, not "somewhere in the middle" - and it should have the length of whole virtual desktop - etc.).

## Description
It's possible to recheck the desktop grid size after loading the desktop or after gtk theme changing?
I modified the "XfdesktopIconView*" class style via gtkrc, for increase the density of icon placing, but now only a portion of desktop is usable for icons.
As a workaround, the following script places the icons and resets the desktop grid and I can place icons anywhere in the desktop:
sleep 10
xfdesktop --reload
sleep 1
xfdesktop --arrange
Can you develop some autoarrange method for custom desktop grid or create possibility for change desktop grid settings?

## Description
It would be super to have the ability to set more than one location the Desktop module looks in for wallpaper images. Pulling them up individually by adding them one at a time is extremely tedious, and is contrary to making the system work simply, IMHO.
One should be able to add multiple directories to add to the display of images, and then sort all images by any criteria, such as directory, name, resolution, etc..
These features should be trivial to add to the Desktop module, IMHO.
Thank you.

I am not certain this is a bug or feature request. I have a dual monitor system and each monitor shows a different background. Each selects from the same list of several hundred pictures. It changes every 2 hours. I will run across a picture I haven't seen in a long time, and would like to know the filename so I can do something with it. As far as I have been able to tell there is no way to do this. Would it be possible for xfdesktop to display the name of the file it is currently using for the background image?
Thanks,
John

xfce4-desktop.xml
When locking down XFCE with kioskrc or with the XML 'locked' attribute (in xfce4-desktop.xml), changes to the backdrop cannot be prevented in some situations. It seems that XFCE tries to find a 'monitorVGA0' section or similar depending on driver, while the XML section that is locked down is 'monitor0'. Thus backdrop settings can be changed by the user.
Running on Ubuntu 14.04.

side note: i use both available methods to create the keyboard shortcut, by manually edit the accels.scm in ~/.config/Thunar and also using xfconf-query, neither of them work on the desktop.

## Description
I have an XFCE setup with three X11 displays (:0.0, :0.1, :0.2) and a desktop on each. [Not a single desktop spread across all three displays.]
When I "right click" on the desktop, the desktop menu sometimes pops up on the wrong display. Instead of popping up where I did the "right click", it seems to pop up on the screen on which I most recently did a "left-click". If I always "left-click" on the desktop a couple times before the "right-click", then the menu pops up where it should.
This problem makes xfdesktop difficult to use in a multi-display setup.
Reverting from xfdesktop 4.12 to 4.10 fixes this problem.
