## Other info
The system is Ubuntu Focal. Output of `xfdesktop --version` is:
```
This is xfdesktop version 4.14.2, running on Xfce 4.14.
Built with GTK+ 3.24.13, linked with GTK+ 3.24.20.
Build options:
I found this issue when trying to install VScode from its official deb package and create an icon on desktop for it. The icon file for VScode is located at `/usr/share/pixmaps/com.visualstudio.code.png`.https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfdesktop/-/issues/55Shift+drag and ctrl-drag should behave the same in xfdesktop and thunar2021-02-26T21:04:45ZBugzilla MigrationShift+drag and ctrl-drag should behave the same in xfdesktop and thunar## Submitted by Alexander Schwinn `@alexxcons`
## Description
Triggered by Bug #7526
It seems to be common sense among file manager to invert the selection on "ctrl-drag", so I think it would make sense to have the same for xfdesktop.
(currently on xfdesktop ctrl-drag adds to the selection)
In thunar 1.6.x shift+drag was used to "add to selection" .. thats a regression in thunar 1.8.x which should be fixed (detailes in bug #7526)
Currently xfdesktop just opens a context menu on shift + "leftmouse". Shift+drag so far is not supported. It would be nice to add support for it.
The desktop when GDK_SCALE=2 is set
On my laptop I have an HiDPI monitor, I have GDK_SCALE=2 set in my environment because that's the only way many applications' icons get displayed at a good size. Everything used to work fine with this setup, but since some 4.13 release many icons on the desktop are "rendered offscreen". It's like the algorithm that places them is considering a double-sized desktop. Please see the attachments.
Add custom action and check all Appearance Conditions, ok, close... - right click on desktop - expected result; you should see the new custom action, but it doesn't appear.
Reboot computer - right click desktop - custom action appears.
In the past I was able to run a command to rebuild the cache but I can't remember what that was.
currently 3.18.27-1-MANJARO 64bit with Thunar 1.6.10 but I've had this issue since the beginning. Been using Manjaro for about 2 years now with regular updates.
If I move/copy a file to the desktop with drag and drop, the drop position on the desktop is ignored.
I can reproduce this with thunar or file-roller (and probably other programs too).
