Under labwc, after unplugging/plugging a monitor, all outputs stay off

I tried using xfce with startxfce4 --wayland with labwc. Although the display settings dialog works fine and lets me configure two my monitors together, after unplugging-plugging the secondary monitor, both outputs happen in "off" state. I could verify the result by running wlr-randr in a separate console.
