Thunar throwing timeout error when opening

I'm currently using Xubuntu 20.04 with xfce 4.14. My Thunar version is 1.8.14 and I'm unable to access Thunar without being in super user mode. If I try to open it using the UI, Thunar never shows up. If I try to open it using CLI, I get the following error: Failed to register: Timeout was reached
