XFCE Panel Items list names are incorrect, duplicated

Description

Created attachment 5494 Panel Items List

The list of items in on the Items tab in the Panel Settings dialogue is inaccurate. Contains duplicate names along side different icons. Eg. "Clock" beside Whisker Menu icon. Also the name will change when hovering with the mouse pointer. Please see attachment image.

Does this occur at startup, or after removing/adding items to the panel?

At startup. I already have a custom list of items for the panel, if that's relevant.

Ah, too bad. I thought it might be related to a memory leak mitigated in !46 (merged), but probably not then.

I've found the cause of the issue, which explains why some people can't reproduce it but it happens for me.

I created a Docker image and everything seemed fine and couldn't reproduce this issue. Copied the same settings to my machine and I still had this issue. So I killed & ran xfce4-panel in the terminal. The issue is that I'm using the en_AU.utf8 locale.

In https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/-/blob/10eb49e426a3e97071f9c43f21bbdd18c610b1ff/po/en_AU.po#L408, a part of the code got made into the locale incorrectly. Instead of:

msgstr "%s <span colour=\"grey\" size=\"small\">(external)</span>"

We need:

msgstr "%s <span color=\"grey\" size=\"small\">(external)</span>"

Only the en_AU locale appears to be affected for this, and en_GB is fine.

I can send in a PR, if you give me forking permissions.

A patch to fix this for the current version of XFCE would be really nice too.

Not sure if a PR would be suitable here and instead you can make the change in transifex.

I've signed up there and requested access to XFCE.

Changes I made are in master & xfce-4.16 now.
