slack icon not showing in systray

I've just upgraded to Linux Mint 21 and it comes with xfce 4.16.

I use slack and the systray icon is not there anymore. I think I have the proper plugin added; I can see the network manager icon and ubuntu update button. In the older version of Mint the slack icon was there.
