## Description
I have been trying out the panel preferences like:
Mode:
Horizontal, Vertical, Deskbar
I dont get why there are two types of vertical.
One called vertical and one called deskbar which is also vertical but does not have vertical in its name.
Deskbar should show plugins horizontally but then again the plugin might have a setting to do the opposite like "Invert buttons orientation" in Actions Buttons.
Would it not be better to have the following?:
Panel orientation:
Horizontal, Vertical
Plugins orientation:
Horizontal, Vertical
That way users dont have to be confused about what deskbar is.
And then you can choose plugins orientation in both horizontal and vertical panel modes. Not just in the vertical modes.

I would like it if i could resize the panel by dragging the border of the panel with the cursor when the panel is not locked.
Just like a window/dialog.
This way i can visually see what size i want instead of having to choose a number from 1-6 in the panel preferences.

## Description
I dont see why the panel need to be restricted to a maximum of 6 rows in panel preferences.
If in horizontal mode i have 7 buttons from a plugin in line but then switch the panel to deskbar mode (vertical panel, horizontal plugin) the panel can not show the last button from the plugin because the panel is only allowed 6 rows so the last button is clipped.
And it seems the panel does not allow the overflowing button to wrap to the next line.
So i guess what i want is to change the panel size like i would change the size of a window.
Not indirectly by changing the number of rows or the row size inside the panel but just the panel size.
Perhaps it would be better to be able to select the width/height of the panel in % both ways.
It seems like currently you can select the length in % and the "width" indirectly by the row height.

## Description
If i add a lot of plugins to a panel the panel does not have room for all the plugins at once.
It seems the panel just clips the plugins where there is not room for more.
I would like an option to access the hidden plugins even when there is not enough room.
Like an > arrow or something like that to show the rest.
Maybe drop down the remaining icons/etc. or drop down a list with names or scroll the whole panel sideways and then also have a < arrow at the other end to scroll the other way. Or maybe have `< and >` at the same end so the user dont have to move the cursor much.
Something like what the window list plugin is capable off.
But i suppose it should be built into the panel rather then being a new plugin because then it will only work if the plugin is added to the panel.

## Description
I dont understand the "Sq_uare icons" option in panel preferences.
Seems like it having nothing to do with being square.
I dont see the icons being more of less square when "Sq_uare icons" is toggled.
The icons are placed different and the icon size can be different.
Maybe find another name then "Sq_uare icons".
I dont know exactly what the option does but here is what i see:
With "Sq_uare icons" on it seems the icons are limited to 32 pixels. And placed in a grid of multiple rows/columns. The frame around the plugin is not allowed for some reason.
With "Sq_uare icons" off it seems the icons are limited to 64 pixels. And placed on 1 row or columns (depending on the vertical/horizontal mode of the panel).
I also found the string "Square icons" in xfce4-indicator-plugin and xfce4-statusnotifier-plugin which might be the same.

patch to add toggle for old behavior
commit 36bc57e035e0 ("tasklist: Draw grouped windows count indicator") ([Bug 10844](https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10844)) changed the behavior for
window groups by displaying the window count in a cairo drawn indicator instead of showing the count
as part of the label.
I personally prefer the old behavior of showing the window count as a part of the label, so I have
written a patch to introduce a toggle to restore the old behavior. The patch is attached.

I see a visual bug when the number of windows is high (>= 2 digits). Instead of drawing a circle it would be better to have an opportune rectangle with rounded angles which degenerates to a circle when the number of grouped windows has a single digit. What do you think?
Here is attached an example where there are 127 windows of the kalarm application and 5 of firefox

## Description
Current behaviour:
Right now the only thing that can be done by mouse-scrolling is to change from one active application to the contiguous one.
Desired behaviour:
Make this mouse wheel command customizable, if possible. For comparison, tint2 has an option where you can set anything related to every button, and there is a very interesting feature: toggle minimize/focus, which can be bound at the mouse wheel such that when a window button is hovered over, one can scroll in order to simulate a mouse click. One can also close the window, etc.
It is, of course, a low priority task, but it would be great to have more customization regarding mouse input.

## Description
Some badly-designed programs, particularly web browsers dealing with bad sites (which become common now that JIT JS engines execute infinite loops so much faster) and stuff using web views (in my case Chromium, Evolution) can have significant CPU consumption when entirely idle. This is really problematic when I need that CPU elsewhere and don't want to kill them right now.
What I'd really use is a convenient right-click menu options to suspend (SIGSTOP) and resume (SIGCONT) applications, similarly to how I can ^Z them from console. This is partially related to #12762 but that bug talks of automatically suspending processes, while this is just about convenient options for that.

I like to see 1 panel on each monitor, but if I configure it and start without monitors, all panels are visible on main screen.
Since Monitor settings have the nice profile features with auto-enabling I like to see this feature integrated to the panel.
- It should be possible to set the panel settings for each monitor profile
- New setting "hide" is required to be able to hide panels if not required in profile.
- Of course the default profile should be there if no monitor profile matches
