In the panel, if you have two grouped application windows, e.g. two terminals, you can't move or switch their position to, for example, a single firefox window.
Basically, grouped windows in the panel can't be moved.
If this has already been fixed, sorry.

As it is today, there's no way to perform drag and drop with "window buttons", as soon as the target window is grouped.
Proposal (KDE4 behaviour) : dragging a file to a button corresponding to grouped windows could prompt a menu containing these windows, so that dragging to one window in that menu raises it and one can perform drag and drop to it.

Hey,
since 4.8, it seems that plugins are not added at the place where the user right clicks and click “add plugin” but are always to the end of the panel. This is a bit annoying, I've been used to place the plugins directly where I wanted them, and now I have to move them manually.
Could the previous behavior be restored?

Currently all launcher displayed in the Panel Preferences/Items dialog box have the same generic icon. Also, the tooltip shows only "Internal name: launcher-%d".
This is missing the most important information (from the user's perspective): "which launcher in the panel does this item corresponds to".
Ideally, the icon displayed in the Items should look the same as the icon displayed by the launcher in the panel. Also, the tooltip should mention the name of application(s) the launcher is configured to execute.

## Description
Presently, window buttons seem to behave in the following way. When you click on a window button, if the window is not focused, it gains focus; if it is focused, then it is minimized. However this behavior is somewhat annoying when you have focus following the mouse pointer; if you choose a window from the panel to raise that you've accidentally brushed with the mouse pointer, it is minimized instead of raised.
It would be nice if you could configure the window buttons such that when you click on a button, if the window is not raised, it is raised and focused; if it is raised but not focused it is focused; if it is raised and focused then it is minimized. This way you can raise windows easily without accidentally minimizing them. This makes sense (for me at least) because (from the panel at least) I want to raise windows far more often than I want to minimize them.

When i edit the list of items/plugin in the panel and select an item and delete it the list scrolls up to the top each time i have deleted an item.
This is annoying when i have to delete a lot of items because i have to scroll down each time.
So maybe would be nice to be able to select multiple items with like Ctrl+click and then only have to press delete and confirm once.
Or maybe have check boxes to the side of each item so the user can select what to delete before pressing the delete button.

## Description
I have been trying out the panel preferences like:
Mode:
Horizontal, Vertical, Deskbar
I dont get why there are two types of vertical.
One called vertical and one called deskbar which is also vertical but does not have vertical in its name.
Deskbar should show plugins horizontally but then again the plugin might have a setting to do the opposite like "Invert buttons orientation" in Actions Buttons.
Would it not be better to have the following?:
Panel orientation:
Horizontal, Vertical
Plugins orientation:
Horizontal, Vertical
That way users dont have to be confused about what deskbar is.
And then you can choose plugins orientation in both horizontal and vertical panel modes. Not just in the vertical modes.

## Description
I dont understand the "Sq_uare icons" option in panel preferences.
Seems like it having nothing to do with being square.
I dont see the icons being more of less square when "Sq_uare icons" is toggled.
The icons are placed different and the icon size can be different.
Maybe find another name then "Sq_uare icons".
I dont know exactly what the option does but here is what i see:
With "Sq_uare icons" on it seems the icons are limited to 32 pixels. And placed in a grid of multiple rows/columns. The frame around the plugin is not allowed for some reason.
With "Sq_uare icons" off it seems the icons are limited to 64 pixels. And placed on 1 row or columns (depending on the vertical/horizontal mode of the panel).
I also found the string "Square icons" in xfce4-indicator-plugin and xfce4-statusnotifier-plugin which might be the same.

## Description
Current behaviour:
Right now the only thing that can be done by mouse-scrolling is to change from one active application to the contiguous one.
Desired behaviour:
Make this mouse wheel command customizable, if possible. For comparison, tint2 has an option where you can set anything related to every button, and there is a very interesting feature: toggle minimize/focus, which can be bound at the mouse wheel such that when a window button is hovered over, one can scroll in order to simulate a mouse click. One can also close the window, etc.
It is, of course, a low priority task, but it would be great to have more customization regarding mouse input.

Perhaps it would be more interesting to ask if you want to delete e.g. "HexChat"/"HexChat starter"/"HexChat Starter" or whatever the starter is called.

I would like Xfce to automatically start some programs I often start on login, and to order the window buttons in a way I prefer.
To reorder them correctly, I would like to be notified when a new window button appears, with it's `WnckWindow` (so I can get the window's title text and it's process id). Then I want to tell Xfce where this new window button should be placed at in the tasklist. I believe `xfce_tasklist_button_compare()` performs this task, so I'd like an option to override this.https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/-/issues/522Feature request: gray out empty workspaces in "Buttons" view2022-04-07T17:29:08ZPhilipp G.
