## Description
Hello,
Small feature request: add a position option left/center/right for the separator plugin. It can be useful when setting the separator as "expanding". This way you won't need to introduce two separators in your panel in this case: one that is extended and transparent, and a second one with the separator visible.
Cheers,
Mike

## Description
Presently, window buttons seem to behave in the following way. When you click on a window button, if the window is not focused, it gains focus; if it is focused, then it is minimized. However this behavior is somewhat annoying when you have focus following the mouse pointer; if you choose a window from the panel to raise that you've accidentally brushed with the mouse pointer, it is minimized instead of raised.
It would be nice if you could configure the window buttons such that when you click on a button, if the window is not raised, it is raised and focused; if it is raised but not focused it is focused; if it is raised and focused then it is minimized. This way you can raise windows easily without accidentally minimizing them. This makes sense (for me at least) because (from the panel at least) I want to raise windows far more often than I want to minimize them.

I noticed that you can't drag an entry in one launcher property window into another. I think this would be a handy feature for when you want to orgranize your launcher buttons. Not sure how feasible this is but since its already possible to drag items from the application finder into a launcher property window, I wouldn't think its too much of a stretch. Thanks.

This would allow multiple panels/taskbars to correspond to the side of the screen they are on and another workspace is relative to, so you always know where your other windows are.
~example: I'm in in the middle workspace (2of3), on workspace1 I have Iceweasel and workspace3 is a terminal. So, I have a panel on the left of the screen which shows an Iceweasel task and on a panel on the right which shows a terminal task.

## Description
I dont see why the panel need to be restricted to a maximum of 6 rows in panel preferences.
If in horizontal mode i have 7 buttons from a plugin in line but then switch the panel to deskbar mode (vertical panel, horizontal plugin) the panel can not show the last button from the plugin because the panel is only allowed 6 rows so the last button is clipped.
And it seems the panel does not allow the overflowing button to wrap to the next line.
So i guess what i want is to change the panel size like i would change the size of a window.
Not indirectly by changing the number of rows or the row size inside the panel but just the panel size.
Perhaps it would be better to be able to select the width/height of the panel in % both ways.
It seems like currently you can select the length in % and the "width" indirectly by the row height.

I dont understand the "Sq_uare icons" option in panel preferences.
Seems like it having nothing to do with being square.
I dont see the icons being more of less square when "Sq_uare icons" is toggled.
The icons are placed different and the icon size can be different.
Maybe find another name then "Sq_uare icons".
I dont know exactly what the option does but here is what i see:
With "Sq_uare icons" on it seems the icons are limited to 32 pixels. And placed in a grid of multiple rows/columns. The frame around the plugin is not allowed for some reason.
With "Sq_uare icons" off it seems the icons are limited to 64 pixels. And placed on 1 row or columns (depending on the vertical/horizontal mode of the panel).
I also found the string "Square icons" in xfce4-indicator-plugin and xfce4-statusnotifier-plugin which might be the same.

I do not know if this would be the right place for this discussion. I would like to suggest that there is an option of widening between icons in the notification area. What happens during the inclusion of them is very close. I believe that aesthetically it would be better if there could be a greater widening. between them.

I'm *not* suggesting removing the animation and keeping the bottom panel, since that leads to precious screen real estate being wasted and I already filed a bug report about that years ago ( https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14918 ). Instead I propose completely removing the bottom panel. I've been using Xfce for about a decade (probably will for the rest of my life) and the first thing I do after installing is delete the bottom panel. It's just useless. Every button down there can instead be put on the top panel, to the right of the "Applications" button, but to the left of the "open windows" section. On Microsoft Windows these are often referred to as "quick launchers".
It seems like the only reason the bottom panel is there is to mimic the MacOS look; but really you shouldn't, Apple sucks.
Kinda Off-Topic (but actually pretty related): The Applications Menu in top-left of screen should not show the "button title" (the word "Applications") by default, it should just be an icon. Or maybe a compromise could be to shorten the word to "Apps"?https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/-/issues/627Panel Preferences Menu UI Causes Frequent Panel Deletion2022-08-29T00:52:16ZMatt FPanel Preferences Menu UI Causes Frequent Panel DeletionFirst off, I'd just like to thank you fine folks for maintaining this project, as I have used it for over a decade, and have tried the rest intermittently to see if they've managed to improve on the xfce experience. And every time, XFCE emerges the victor. So, thank you very much
**Issue**: The Panel Preferences Menu UI causes frequent issues for many users (deletion of their entire panel)
**Description**
Over the 10+ years I've used xfce, I cannot count the number of times I've made a bunch of changes to a panel, only to go and **delete the entire panel**.
When on the "Items" tab, the add/remove panel buttons (which are must less frequently used), are marked with bright coloring, whereas the add/remove buttons for panel items are very difficult to pick out easily.
I've made this mistake many times, and I am sure it has plagued many, many other users
**Proposed Solution**
The panel selector would be much better placed in a tab alongside 'Display', 'Appearance', and 'Items'
As an optional addition, a text entry could take place of the current panel selector, o maintain knowledge of which panel is selected.

Although, is there going to be some option like `Load config from file` for `xfce4-panel` configuration menu?
