## Description
The action buttons plugin currently simply checks for the presence of the "gdmflexiserver" tool in $PATH for offering the "Switch user" item. This is rather unreliable since GDM or LightDM (which provide this tool) might be installed but not actually running (see e.g.https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=780707 ). There should be an additional check for the running display manager which could be implemented through DBus and/or environment variables.

In xfce4-panel, whether horizontal or vertical, I'm trying to have the Actions Button and the Whiskers Menu button adjacent -- over/under for horizontal panel, left/right for vertical panel, the way it does for launcher buttons and external plugins. I can't seem to find a way to make it happen. And yes, I know the commands are already IN the Whiskers menu, but that makes an additional mouse movement and an additional mouse click, and I'm lazy. :-)
I've tried moving both of the icons, and that does not work. An MX forum admin running Xfce 4.12 does not have this problem, he can move the above icons to adjacency.https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/-/issues/292Option to show icon rather than username in panel2022-04-07T15:51:01ZBugzilla MigrationOption to show icon rather than username in panel## Submitted by Yousuf Philips `@philipzae`

## Description
When the plugin's appearance is set to 'Session Menu' it displays the login user's name in the panel and it would be nice to be able to just have an icon appear rather than text.
Possible icons could be a head (e.g. stock_person.png), or the log out (e.g. xfsm-logout.png), etc.
