## Description
I hope this is the place to bring up a suggestion. I've been using xfrun4 so much the past years that I really am not happy with appfinder. xfrun4 could autocomplete previously entered commands; appfinder seems not to be capable of remembering or completing some of my most used scripts (residing in `~/bin`, for instance, which is in $PATH). That would not be so annoying if appfinder would actually remember commands that were run, which it somehow forgets after a reboot.
Because this severely impacts my workflow and is so annoying, I suggest adding xfrun4 behaviour back to appfinder and make it an option.
Examples of commands that are run the most on my box from Alt+F2 which are just not cached by appfinder over reboots:
```
sudo hibernate # suspends system
hddual.sh # script in ~/bin
single.sh # script in ~/bin
dpmsoff.sh # script in ~/bin
```
also, things like
`startx ~/bin/fallout2.sh -- :1` # starts fallout 2 via wine, it's just an example
used to work because `xfrun` remembered the whole line.
Thanks for your consideration.

## Description
I don't know if something broke here or if it's a feature lack in xfce4-appfinder.
For example, if I want to open file-roller, I can type 'file-roller' (just start typing it and xfce4-appfinder will find it).
It's called 'Archive Manager' but if I type 'archive manager' it won't show up in the xfce4-appfinder collapsed window, only if I hit the down arrow it will be listed.
So the feature request (if it ain't broken) is that 'xfce4-appfinder --collapsed' match both the 'Exec' and the 'Name' keys in desktop files. Just an idea, not sure how it would perform but I suppose it would be good.

Hi,
a Debian user reported an issue with appfinder. He's using a setup where he has two $DISPLAY handled by the same Xserver (thus two xfwm4, afaict).
In his situation, when he xfrun4/xfce4-appfinder, they always appear on the same DISPLAY, since it's usually a dbus call to the already running process.
Same situation exists with xfce4-terminal (bug #10133).

## Description
Hi
I would think one of the main advantage of this app is to navigate quickly using the keyboard and not the mouse.
Being a vim user, I find using the Arrow keys inefficient to navigate. Could we assign some mapping to navigate between the suggestions (for instance the dropdown menu of matches in collapsed mode). In expanded mode, this can be done with Tab, but it could be nice to have a consistent mapping between the two modes.
My suggestions would be Ctr-N Ctrl-P or Ctrl-K Ctrl-J, but I'm sure emacs user will have their own preferred mappings.
Thanks

## Description
To reproduce:
Start appfinder and write "firefox" then press enter.
Then start appfinder again and write "firefox --new-instance".
Now when you start appfinder and write "fire"
It will make a dropdown with "firefox" and "firefox --new-instance" as suggestions
So if I use the arrow keys and move down to "firefox --new-instance" I must press enter for that option to be choosen (completed). Then press enter again to run the command. If I press right arrow key, the command is _not_ completed. When I press right arrow key, the dropdown box just goes away.
But if I write "firefox --", then I can use right key to complete the rest or when I press enter, the command is not just completed but the command is also run immediately.
I would like the right arrow key to auto-complete in both cases. The enter key is ok, but identical behavior in the dropdownbox and input field would be ideally.

## Description
This is against git master from a few weeks ago.
If it doesn't apply I'll rebase it, but right now I'm copying directly from a different report as is.
The explanation is also more or less copied.
Take the following situation.
1. For some reason we have the well-known name owned by someone, but this someone doesn't answer connections.
2. We have timeouts, making startup slow.
3. After the timeouts, we try to take ownership of the name, which is probably reasonable.
The way appfinder works now, the following happens:
1. We make a mistake. We use g_dbus_own_name and take its return value as meaningful proof that we're now the owner, when it always returns non-zero and is asynchronous. We have no idea if we own the name until after we run gtk_main_loop.
2. We think we own the name, and thus are the server, so we must not die on close.
This happened in the context of issue #15623.
The attached patch takes care of it by using an explicit message to synchronously ask for ownership and detect whether it was granted.
This way, if a server is running but doesn't answer, the new process realizes it isn't the server itself, so it must die when the window is closed, thus avoiding lingering processes.
This is the original patch, as attached to #15623: https://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id=8733
I'm not sure if downloading and reattaching is mandatory, but of course will do if asked so.
It just seemed more practical this way.
