## Description
Hello, everyone.
Often I need to run a GUI application specifying some env variables, because some apps require them to work correctly.
My particular example being:
LC_ALL=zh_CN.utf8 wine /home/lockywolf/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Tencent/WeChat/WeChat.exe
However, xfce4-apprunner doesn't support such commands.
If someone could help with it, would be great.

As mentioned in http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ar01s03.html, escape sequence \s should be treated as a space in string fields. Unfortunately. xfce4-appfinder ignores this rule.
I use Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS and xfce4-appfinder 4.10.1-1

I would like to see some prioritization, but don't know what's best. Some options:
- If previous searches with same content have selected x at least n times more than the item above it, move it up in the list.
- Manual assigning / pinning / favourites. Weights (could mess with other search results)?
- Disallowing an item from becoming the top item.https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-appfinder/-/issues/80[Feature Request] Display entry GenericName (as opposed to entry name)2023-04-17T19:36:21Zsimplejack-src[Feature Request] Display entry GenericName (as opposed to entry name)Just as the title says, an Appearance [bool] to display the desktop entry GenericName instead of the desktop entry Name (only on the View items themselves, tooltips and anywhere else remains to displaying the entry Name).

Could xfce4-appfinder include an option (something along the lines of --server, to match the disable option) which would only register the DBus service and persist but NOT show the actual window. This would allow xfce4-appfinder to perform any caching ahead of time (ideally on session start via autostart methods etc.) without actually requiring the user to dismiss the window.

There is a problem I encounter for years when I extract compressed files with "Extract Here" in Thunar.
Regardless if an archive contains folders with files or the archive is only a compressed file.
Regardless of the compressed file size. Tested with 2k txt files and with larger
than 2k compressed files.
Regardless compression. Happens with all regular compression formats.
I only use engrampa with thunar-archive-plugin and I don't know whether the problem appears with xarchiver
or other tools.
Inside engrampa extracting files works fine. Also with "Extract to..."
work fine.
So I assume the problem is related to Thunar or the plugin.
The extracted file/folder will not displayed correct in Thunar.
The file/folder is correct displayed only if the view is reloaded, the folder changed or any other action what causes Thunar to reload the view.
(see thunar-archive-plugin.mkv)

For a very long time (10+ years) I configured Thunar on laptops with only always visible tabs.
- Deselected Menubar
- Deselected Toolbar
- Deselected Location Selector
- Deselected Side Pane
I love Thunar exactly for that opportunity to configure the filemanager with that minimalistic display.
If needed I would press the assigned shortcuts and the desired bar/pane appears or disappears.
E.G. my workflow to change directories used to be:
1. Ctrl+L - Toolbar with integrated Location Bar appears on top, with the option to enter a desired path
2. Enter a path and press ENTER
3. Thunar opens that Path/Folder and the Toolbar with integrated Location Bar disappears again
[thunar-4.16-9.mkv](/uploads/161d91e93ef94becca2becc3d3481788/thunar-4.16-9.mkv)
Since update to 4.18.2 it seems it doesn't work in that way anymore! :disappointed:
After Ctrl+L and changing directories the Toolbar does not disappear anymore. The Toolbar with
integrated Location Bar remains in place while in 'Menubar/View/Location Selector' nothing is selected.
(see thunar-4.18.2-1.mkv)

I run Thunar with xfce on Artix Linux with dinit.
Hopefully that can be fixed. Unfortunately I do not have coding experience to
help.
Thank you.
Have a nice day.

Sorry for my bad English :)
I'm openEuler RISC-V port maintainer and current experiencing this issue. Basically it won't create the history file under `.cache/xfce4/appfinder`. From the debug log, it seems like the program won't even try to create it:
![image](/uploads/68b872eb0560454c69c4d97a885d49e7/image.png)
I tried manually create this file and it can read from it, but when try to execute it will core dump:

![image](/uploads/3e9e07309961b280513d49e30aece006/image.png)
## How to reproduce
1. Download the following files from [here](https://fr-repo.openeuler.org/openEuler-preview/RISC-V/openEuler-22.03-V1-riscv64/QEMU/).
```
fw_payload_oe_qemuvirt.elf
openEuler-22.03-V1-riscv64-qemu-xfce.qcow2.tar.zst
preview_start_vm_xfce.sh
```
2. Run the VM, the default password is `openEuler12#$`. For now, the command history works fine, and the version is 4.16.x.
3. Append this to `/etc/yum.repos.d/openEuler.repo`, then run `sudo dnf update`:
```
[xfce]
name=xfce
baseurl=http://obs-backend.tarsier-infra.com:82/Factory:/RISC-V:/XFCE/2203/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0
```
4. Reboot then use the `Run Program...` to run any program. Then open Application Finder and the command history shows nothing. The version is 4.18.0.
