Freeze when changing gvfs metadata on multiple files (> 100)

Steps to reproduce -

• Create a folder with 10000 files in it && cd into it.
• Select all the files and open the properties dialog.
• Select a background color & apply it.

The application should become unresponsive.
The application does return to normal but after a considerable amount of time. I'm working on finding the problem.

I tested using GPROF as per the wiki. This is the output (Hope it is of some help) - output.txt
