Does not remember the way files/folders are sorted

With the "remember view settings for each folder" enabled, the latest Thunar 4.17.9git-9771dff7 I see inconsistency in regards to remembering the view for each folder. Seems buggy.

Nope, seems not to work when "remember view settings for each folder" is enabled.

The culpit seems to be that a "set" of the sort_order/sort_column is done whenever a new page is inserted into the notebook. That as well sets the folder-specific setting to the default setting.

Looks like I introduced the bug myself: #678 (closed) .. I'll look for a proper solution for #678 (closed) which does not break folder-specific-settings

Here a simple patch which will fix this issue, but break #678 (closed) : 0001-sorting-out-sort-stuff.patch
