Bookmark accel keys not working

The shortcuts for bookmarks do not work, though in the bookmarks menu the key assigned is visible.

Had built xfce4-dev-tools, libxfce4util, xfconf, libxfce4ui, exo, thunar master branches from source. Quit Thunar and made changes to the accels.scm file to add shortcuts for bookmarks, on restarting thunar, the key assigned is visible in bookmarks menu but it does not work.

Tried on ubuntu 20.04, xubuntu 21.10 VM.
